Pope Assails Marxism, Capitalism
So, in the article, I see a direct quote about Marxism. The Pope doesn't like Commies. I knew that already, so I feel comfortable saying the media got at least that right. But the stuff about globalization and capitalism, well, it isn't a direct quote. The media has suggested the Pope doesn't like capitalism before:
Does the Pope Blast Capitalism?
Now, in order to get communism, you have to pass a lot of laws and use a lot of force. You have to make people do communism. It is not natural.
In order to get capitalism you let people trade peaceably. A good justice system is important, but merchants have actually set courts up themselves in order to deal with conflicts.
The level of sophistication that we can reach without coercion is still unknown today, because there's always someone with a badge or a gun willing to lay claim on the work of others. Marx may be gone, but his mindless little brothers are still around. Chavez may be the loudest, but there are so many more, including our own government. If you think capitalism is causing a problem, stop and research a little bit; you'll find bureaucrats causing problems.
