Bullet points are evil

Following closely on my general indication that passive voice is bad enough to serve as a filter, someone decided to point out that bullet points are horrible. Although the link is referencing power-point presentations, I can personally tell you blogs suffer from the evil of the list. For an informative example, google Penelope Trunk. She doesn't deserve an actual link, but if you find one of her lists, you'll notice you finish reading them with less understanding than you had before you started. That's not just because she's a bad writer; she's not, she just thinks the stupid lists actually work for the career world. Drill down enough, and you'll find where she writes about her family. Then you will know she could actually be putting out superior stuff.
Alas, she feels the need to sell out, so you are better off not reading her at all, because the ridiculous lists come so much more often than the real stuff.
