Geometry of Relationships

Sheila finds the christian overreaction to modern pop psychology. So, what's the problem with the article? Geometry.
Yep, it's a bit of an overreaction because, in order to have a relationship we need at least two. Two what, you ask? Well, if we were talking real geometry, we'd need two points. But, in this case we need at least two individuals.
Of course, trying to find yourself is ridiculous, but it's important to realize most of what the author assumes to be individualism here is in fact a by-product of the socialist state. We are encouraged to "find ourselves" to "experiment" and otherwise waste our time in ineffectual pursuits while the wise and all-knowing collectivists plan every minute of our lives. It's grand scale infantilization, a central tenet of the nanny state. We cannot grow up, we cannot take authority as adults, for to do so deligitimizes the parent state.
We are born as Individuals in Relationship.
If you have the time to ponder this, you may be able to glimpse the dynamic nature of this situation. Mere human plans are silly in comparison. We should not violate the principle of subsidiarity, nor should we violate God's sovreignty. Collectivists do both as a matter of habit, and in the process, create isolation, discord, and opression.
