I was having my annual, "Should I get an MLIS?" thought process, so I decided to subscribe to a bunch of library blogs. This is not a good way to get excited about going to library school. Most posts about library work have an angry tone. And no one seems to have learned very much, so it sounds like getting an MLIS is more about paying the education cartel than learning.
Plus the ALA sounds like a real scam.
One the whole, it sounds rather disheartening. The so-called positive posts look like pathetic attempts to be relevant, complete with all the latest buzzwords, but no real substance.
Come to think of it, this is just like where I work now! Are there no happy librarians?
