Capitalism as a Vocation

Father Sirico defends entrepreneur as a calling. I really like this one. He points out the mere act of providing a product or a service to humanity is a calling, and no, companies don't need to go around bowing to the latest fads in order to call themselve socially responsible.

Perhaps the best part of it is when he describes the difference between the entrepreneurial mindset and the bureaucratic mindset. The entrepreneur is creative, and takes on risk in order to create. The bureaucrat is defensive, tries to minimize risk, and wants to maintian what it has. Sadly enough, I notice that bureaucratic mindset in myself more than I'd like it to be.

Fun little climate change reference at the end!
