Missing the Fascist at Acton

Under normal circumstances, the Acton Power Blog is excellent. But, yesterday, Ray Nothstine wrote about Ron Paul's take on Mike Huckabee's Christmas political ad.

Perhaps Nothstine's largest mistake:

He(Ron Paul) did not seem to adequately address the implied link he made with Christianity and fascism, which of course are polar opposites.
I added the parenthesis for clarity.

There was never any implied link. Nothstine provides the video and you can see for your self. The quote simply refered to fascists appropriating the cross as a symbol, much like the Nazis stole the Swastika.

I wanted to comment to this effect, but someone shut down the comments by the time I got to it. It's just silly, you should know Ron Paul is a Christian. And you should know the difference between a symbol and a belief system.
