David Friedman relates how unschooling worked for his children.
I still, when I read about this sort of thing, think that it depends on the child, and yet I am starting to think I may be wrong about that. It could be that children, always inquisitve, will go from one topic to the next, for their whole lives practically. I listen to various lectures as my entertainment nowadays, so I figure others could do it too. Especially if the oppressive nature of school didn't kill one's enthusiasm.
I'm extremely hopeful about this sort of thing, enough so that I will try it with my children, should I ever get the chance.
