The Web Meter

Mark Perry posts about metering the web, instead of those so-called 'unlimited' packages we have now. This will be coming, but I hope they'll implement it right. I'd like real time information. There are peak times when everyone wants to get on the internet and there are really quiet times, and those of us willing to use the bandwidth on off peak times should be rewarded with lower prices.

Electricity should be metered like this too. I've also seen proposals for this type of thing on toll roads. The roads are always there and we would be encouraging those who are most price sensitive to travel at times other than the normal commuter times, which would reduce congestion for all.
