Progressives Like To Feel The Wind in Their Hair

Neal McCluskey asks Why would the feds be any less susceptible to standards-dumbing/avoiding/destroying than any other level of government?

As McCluskey knows, the feds aren't any less susceptible. What they are, however, is one more stage in the endless motion generated by progressives. Progressives never actually solve anything, they just keep progressing. Where they are progressing to is beside the point; we must change!

Change what?
Something, anything!
What if it doesn't work?
Change it again!

Whirl the nation around hard enough and perhaps it won't notice how bad your policies are. It worked for FDR; people still lionize the man despite massive historical evidence that his policies hurt America. Why wouldn't politicians be tempted in this manner when one can not only secure a good career out of it, but can also have that all important legacy etched in stone?
