I watched Into Great Silence last night, which is a documentary of the Grande Chartreuse monastery. It's very well done, but at 162 minutes, it requires some dedication. As the title suggests, silence figures rather largely in the film. The director did a great job of showing how life is in a monastery, and I am afraid most Americans won't be able to get through the first hour.
I think it's worth it.
