Most folks don't realize this is a repeat. Yep, old Herbert Hoover wasn't the free market dude your high-school history teacher made him out to be. He intervened, the market tanked horribly in response, and then FDR came in prolonged the entire thing even longer. One wonders sometimes, in the more despondent moments, whether or not the entire thing is staged.
I imagine Obama will enjoy acting like FDR.
