When Outrage Is Not Justified

Predictably, a bunch of people are upset with Israel's attempts to defend itself. After writing an obviously inaccurate history, for there are still Palestinians and Israel certainly has the means for genocide but restrain themselves (while the Palestinians do not have the means but spend a lot of what they get on weapons to attempt genocide), they come up with this stupid statement:

Israel must lose. It is not enough to call for another ceasefire, or more humanitarian assistance. It is not enough to urge the renewal of dialogue and to acknowledge the concerns and suffering of both sides. If we believe in the principle of democratic self-determination, if we affirm the right to resist military aggression and colonial occupation, then we are obliged to take sides... against Israel, and with the people of Gaza and the West Bank.

Of course, I couldn't disagree more, except for the pointlessness of ceasefires and any 'renewal of dialogue.'

Israel must win. The missiles must stop falling on Israel, but so too should the warring between Fatah and Hamas stop. The international aid must stop being diverted to terrorist activities. If you are truly interested in the welfare of the Palestinian, give up the notion of Palestine. For brother kills brother in that place.

Obviously, this isn't the ideal situation for Israel, but Jordan and the other Muslims nations don't want to accept their brothers. Lebanon, the one nation that did accept them, has experienced serious internal destabilization. Meanwhile, the propagandization of Muslims in the area for the past 60 years has caused an entire generaton to be mal-educated. Even the simplest steps towards peaceful living, ownership, and productivity require new learning.

Whether one considers it international outrage or merely Muslim outrage, we know that outrage hasn't fixed the problem. In fact, those outraged appear to merely use their outrage to commit outrageous acts. The outraged do not create or build civilizations; they merely destroy. Do we see Muslims in Europe leading the way to create new culture? No, we see them rioting and chasing police around in the streets.

This is because outrage does not justify. One's actions are right or wrong, sinful or not, prudent or reckless- regardless of what one's so-called enemy is doing. In Gaza there was a chance to build a nation, but Hamas chose to continue being outraged, and used all resources available to fund outrageous acts, such as dropping missiles on the closest Israeli cities. Clearly, growing outrage, rather than crops, for instance, does no one any good.
