Authority And Education

Perhaps this is a side note, but on blogs everything is vertical, so...

The modern tendency is to recognize authority via popularity contest (otherwise known as voting) and/or education/training.

One can see immediately authority via sacrament will stump some people. Especially American people. Natural authority stumps them too. They don't understand that the leader you don't like might be the person most qualified to lead.

At first glance education/traing seems a thankful improvement. Unfortunately, those who win the popularity contests control the education/training system. You get to be an expert and thus in authority if, and only if, you please the politicians.

Also, the education/training model encourages the egalitarian mindset, because it posits the myth that the differences aren't inherent. We can all, according to the egalitarian myth, learn, so as long as people put in their time, anyone can become whatever they want.

This lie is the cause of much suffering.
