Spontaneous Order in Ants

Proverbs 6:6-8:

Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!

It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,

yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.

And it turns out ants don't have leaders, despite the royal monikers.

Russ Roberts interviews Deborah M. Gordon about how ants organize.

I recommend listening to this podcast, especially since it is a positive example. I think it's necessary to talk about the government and other negative examples from time to time, but I do get tired of that mess. It's not like I just enjoy offending people, after all!
