It occurred to me last night that if Roto Rooter's local guy, Stu, is right, then any plumber can break any plumbing that isn't up to code and then force the homeowner to pay for it. I don't know if he realizes that is what he is saying. Plumbers around America could just show up with a hammer the first day, spend several hours smashing pipes, charge you for it, and then come back the next day and charge you more for fixing them to code.
Somehow I don't think that's right.
