Here's a show idea:
Food + History. Yep, that's it. There's medieval foods, there's various ethnic foods, there are foods that different peoples use to celebrate the lives of various saints. There are even interesting evolutions in food- one could do a whole episode tracing jambayala back to its Spanish roots as paella.
The impact of the spice trade on European cooking(Cook dishes from before and after). Need I mention the Irish? Dare we do an in depth explanation of what it takes to be kosher? Or perhaps get into the development of Lenten foods?
And imagine a similar treatment of our favorite libations. Of course, I can't expect a media company to jump on something like this because in the process of doing this, we would unavoidably have to talk about our Judeo-Christian heritage.
