Don't Buy From The Big Three

We can do something about the automakers asking for bailout money. We don't have to buy their products. Help save America by not buying American cars! In fact, if you really love their products, buy secondhand- either an owner or a dealer not affiliated with the big three.

This is an extremely bloated industry, sick already from massive government help over their history, and bleeding from obligations promised to the parasitical unions.
If we want a vibrant automotive industry in this country, we need to lower the barriers to entry so that new companies can bring products to market. The push to green technology, much of it not well thought out in terms of actual harm to the environment, is just one way we've made building vehicles ridiculously expensive, which in turn makes it unlikely that a new business can come into this market.

Do a little searching to make sure the brand you are about to buy isn't owned by one of the big three (they have bought some of the old European brands). You'll get what's likely a better car, and your impact will larger than the impact you made with your vote- regardless of who you voted for.
