The Surveillance State Costs Money

Britian has a lot of security cameras but:

But now in these difficult economic times, it seems that Big Brother isn't actually watching, in fact no one is.

Big Brother is not watching because Big Brother ran out of money. They should just shut it down before anyone gets any silly ideas, like streaming the raw feed out over the internet for anyone to see.

In the U.S., it seems like localities use traffic cameras in order to increase revenue. They aren't even trying to stop crime, they just want to ticket you for running a red light or something to increase their budgets. Doesn't even decrease the rate of accidents, as far as I know. Take the cameras down now, before some aide to somebody gets an idea.
