The Free State Project

So, since we aren't actually going to get anywhere by voting for Republicans, maybe we ought to think about other possibilities. Libertarianism in general is interesting, but the existing organized party is problematic because it appears to be pro-abortion. I have, however, noticed that the Free State Project doesn't associate itself with any specific party and has a statement of intent that any disgruntled Christian could love:

I hereby state my solemn intent to move to the state of New Hampshire. Once there, I will exert the fullest practical effort toward the creation of a society in which the maximum role of civil government is the protection of life, liberty, and property.

Hopefully, if this project ever does work out, the term 'protection of life' will actually mean what it should.

The pro-life position is the true libertarian position on abortion anyway. To accept abortion as a libertarian would be similar to accepting someone could kidnap you, take you onto their property, and then kill you because you were on their property. The mother's actions created the conditions of the pregnancy; under no circumstances can the child be said to trespass.
