Culture Shock In My Own Country

Since the new Battlestar Galactica seems to be well loved by many of my fellow Americans, and I haven't seen a single episode, I decided to check out Battlestar Galactica: Razor. I really don't get it. Why not just call it 'Psychotic Women In Space?'

They failed to make it even slightly believable that any of the evil things they did had any value at all. They also tended to make the whole idea of women in leadership roles look highly dangerous, and we know Hollywood wouldn't intentionally do that. Finally, one can see quite clearly how dangerous the state is. The premise of the show involves a war where most of humanity is wiped out. The answer to such a tragedy is to save as many human lives as possible and try to find some place where folks can raise a family. You can't go around shooting people with out doing some serious damage to the gene pool.

An unnecessary attack on an enemy, apparently just to let them know they exist, which, of course, causes many human causalties. Murdering and stealing from civilians. Torture. All in the name of what?

It is just like James Bond, 24, or any of those cop shows out there. There's this entity out there called government, and if you work for it, you get to do all the bad things you normally shouldn't do. Apparently this is still fun for Americans. I find it sickening.
