Bobby Jindal is the next likely candidate the Republicans will field. Sarah Palin may have excited the base in a field full of big government candidates, but now that she's out from under McCain's thumb, she hasn't shown herself to be for small government. No, Jindal is the most likely candidate, and he's likely to win for the same reason he won in Louisiana. The Democrat leaders in Louisiana screwed up royally during Katrina. Jindal's rise to power has little to do with charisma or ideology and everything to do with THANK GOD WE GOT RID OF GOVERNOR BLANCO! Sure, the conservative base made him a contender, but ire against an incompetent got him the rest of the way there.
So, assuming the great unwashed masses begin to notice Obama is part of the problem rather than part of the solution, Jindal could sail right in.
Why does it worry me?
He's the kid who likes school. We need someone to light it on fire. We can't have a decent economy with government controlled fiat money- I don't even think that issue is on his radar. He'll likely play the Supreme Court nominee game instead of throttling that entity and putting it back in it's consitutional place. And I am sure he would never dream of uttering the word DEFAULT!
We've never actually been able to reduce the size or scope of government precisely because we keep playing by the leftist rules- they get to break the constitution with impunity and use force while doing so, and we have to spend time trying to repeal the unconstitutional laws that they have created before we can even begin to start cleaning up the mess. The last thing we need is another person playing within those parameters.
