Call Centers Are Not Power Centers

Friday someone called my cell phone, did some little intro spiel and asked me if I was pro-life. He sounded like an older guy, probably one of those guys who should have started the war in 1972, but that wasn't what aggravated me the most.

The guy was obviously in a call center. Call centers means big money. Big money means one of the two political parties. More money, time, and passion wasted down the rat-hole of politics.

Money, time, and passion that could be going to an actual resistance movement.

Most likely, Obama will be a one-term president. I don't see how he could pull himself out of the dive, but whatever. My point is, eventually a Republican gets in, says a few nice, pro-lifey things, and all these people go chill out in front of the T.V. again while babies keep dying. While euthanasia gains a foothold in America, through socialized medicine, as it already has in Europe. While the Copenhagen crowd put the finishing touches on their plan to reduce the world's population to 500 million in the name of saving the planet.

But the pretense that there is still life in the old Republic is just what keeps folks chasing down the political option, and then we conveniently end up with professional 'pro-life' lobbyists, who are rather dependent on the status quo for the continuation of their employment.
