Something Completely Different: Cantaloupe and Anise Taste Good Together

Yes, by some random series of events, I smelled anise seeds and cantaloupe in the same place, and then proceeded to put some anise seed on cantaloupe and taste them together. It was good. Some other licorice or licorice like substance may work as well. I am not sure what to do with this information, though I definitely wish I had known this back when I had a girlfriend who liked to drink Jägermeister.

I was thinking about buying fennel (the vegetable, not just the seeds) and seeing if a cantaloupe/fennel salad would work.

Fennel is very easy to grow. Even in a large pot.

Hopefully, I will like it. I don't know if I have actually had the vegetable before.
