Why Devolve Into Shamanism?

Ron posted this way before the post that made me think of Christian Shamanism:

Our generation’s experience of the Holy Spirit in the 70s and early 80s was unprecedented. A few heroes in earlier generations had greater intensity, but not the widespread move we experienced. It was like the Spirit was “poured out on all flesh”.

Yet looking back to that time, it feels like our generation has missed the boat somewhere. This generation received so much, but we do not have as much to show for it as we should. The church is stultified and the culture is going down the gurgler. That is not what I would have expected following such an amazing move of the Holy Spirit.

Much is expected from those to whom much is given. Something must have gone wrong.

And, the reason I subsequently came up with Christian Shamanism is, in part, because he noticed. He knows something went wrong. And he is better than many, in that he has tried really hard to figure out why. But unfortunately, he will not give up the parameters with in which the left placed us.

In the 70s, at least in the U.S., that is when abortion came to our neighborhoods. That's also when it started becoming impossible to exercise your freedom of association and private property rights.

So, suppose we take these 70s Charismatics at their word, and we grant the idea the the Holy Spirit was indeed pouring out into folks.

And something went wrong.

What if they were supposed to fight back?

What if they got afraid and allowed people to convince them they were supposed to be non-violent, and to not protect themselves and their children? What if, like today, the mere accusation of racism will get some white kid disowned by his 'Christian' parents?

Can't do anything that might interfere with getting the pension or whatever.

I am not sure about back then, but for ages now I have been believing we should be building a city. But the potential conflict is no less real than what the white nationalists are facing. They can't go off and do their own thing, and neither can Christians.

But a shamanist interpretation of Christianity allows you to make yourself feel better while appeasing the leftists. Well, I say appeasing, but what it really does is put you further down the list. If they manage to get rid of all these other people on the list, like the racists, then they'll get to you.
