Go Nuclear

I'm currently researching the nuclear power industry because I think the global warming scare will force politicians in that direction. Politicians will remember what happened to Gray Davis. They will want to look concerned for the environment, but they know they need to keep the electricity flowing. Sunlight, wind power, and fuel cells just won't do that.

I don't know how much the public buys into Global Warming scam, but I do know there is enough new nuclear reactor technology for the industry to build a better reputation with the public. The newer reactors are safer; displaying the differences between the new and the old will help retire Ralph Nader and company. If there are CO2 restrictions, nuclear will be the only technology that could keep up with current demand and not pollute. In fact, nuclear reactors emit less radiation than coal burning plants. In addition the nuclear waste problem has more to do with politicians than anything else; why in the world are we burying radioactive material when it can be used as fuel?

Oh well, I don't know if the really cool, small nuclear reactors that I could stick in my backyard will ever be legal, but I do think we will have more reactors relatively soon. The environmentalists won't like it, but I don't think they'll be able to win this one. They only win when the politicians are with them. It's already happening in Europe.
