and they want to draft Lawrence Lessig for congress. Hmm, he created Creative Commons, which is kind of cool, but this is what I worry about. Without basic profiency testing, we get a leftist. This leftist did a cool thing, but even that cool thing is just a stopgap measure in a dysfunctional system of laws that are there in the first place because of collectivist insanity in the first place. This entire area of law is based around a "property" that the government just made up in the first place, and Lessig finds this sort of government action acceptable, he just thinks he could do better.
Still, maybe we could do a little horse trading- make it like the NFL draft. I let ya'll have Lessig, in return you give the Austrian economist of my choice a free pass.
I have to admit Lessig is better than any of the left in congress. So we'd be marginally better off assuming he is replacing one of his own kind. The politicos would so hate this! I just had a thought! I'll let ya'll have Richard Stallman too!
Can you imagine the feeling of pure torture that any conversation with Stallman would cause to the average politico? That would be so awesome! Career politicians would resign so that they wouldn't have to listen to him!
