Ilkka reminisces about the socialist message and a Finnish band:
For example, consider the wistful and romantic song "Sinun lapsesi" that literally starts with the words "your children are not yours" and then informs us that children live in the future and therefore we shouldn't try to teach them any of our boring old values or knowledge. Now, do you think that the singer and her Soviet masters actually believed that idea when it came to their own kids? Or was this all just a cynical plan to step in to fill the void?
Our children are the future? Next they'll be telling us to let them lead the way...
