Coincidences Are Not Clues

I made brief reference to coincidences in a previous post, so I would like to elaborate:

Belief in coincidences as indicative of God's will, the will of the universe, or even as a generally good thing, is probably one of the better ways for the forces of evil to prevail in this world. The forces of evil will generally not tempt the nicer sort of people with, say, puppy-killing. Rather the forces of evil, should they get at all interested in you, will be far more sophisticated in their approach, especially if they happen to be more aware than you about what you are supposed to be doing.
